This modern architect designed home is the perfect wilderness retreat or honeymoon hideaway. Very secluded and tranquil, it is the only dwelling in a private nature reserve of 680 acres overlooking the Buller and Maruia Rivers mid way between Nelson and the West Coast. The property is protected in perpetuity for its natural values by a Queen Elizabeth II National Trust covenant.
On a high terrace with all day sun and 360 degree mountain views, 15km of walking trails explore native forests on the property and beyond, with their abundant birdlife, ferns, native orchids and glowworms. (See Flora and Fauna)
Local activities include fly fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, hunting, bush and mountain hiking, and gold panning. Hot pools, lakes, waterfalls, seal colonies, goldmining relics and Nelson Lakes and Kahurangi National Parks are less than 1 hour’s drive; Murchison with cafes and restaurants is 15 minutes.

Highway 6 passes the main gate. A good track climbs the hillside for 1 km to the house, 4WD is recommended.
